New Build, Slow Going '37 Ford Pickup

Wife wanted a truck to go with her car. So she found one over at Hobbylinc and we decided on colors. She ordered a set of custom resin wheels off Ebay and we waited. Slowly, it's been going together. With the options of custom and original, the instructions could be built better but I understand the retail space and saving money.

The motor and chassis are done. The first few coats of paint are on, however, the small Tamiya cans don't hold a lot. Normally I can do everything i need with one. But this truck is a bit different.  I literally have to spray around the cab windows, touch up the lower half of the cab and do the underside of the bed. But I don't have any paint. Went online to order some as Hobbylinc would have taken another week and a half to two weeks to get here.

The custom rims have been chrome painted and tires glues on. I was sitting here bored and did a test fit with the chassis and lower body. Ruh-roh--RAGGY! There is a big fitting issue as the tires are wider than the originals. At least on the front, I don't have the bed put together yet as I'm looking to do real wood instead of paint.

The kit itself is great. Need to find a good tutorial for fitting custom tires to these kits. This is also the first kit i've ever done plug wires with. Not to difficult a process. But first time "What do I do?" Especially with the flat head distributor. I modded it the best i could.

So while we wait for an Amazon delivery,  this is what I have finished so far.

Adding the Tamiya Panel Accent to chrome makes it stand out a bit more in my opinion.

Wheels aren't glued on, thankfully since i found a fit issue.

Tamiya Pearl Blue over Tamiya Flat White primer. Bed tapped off due to wood grain pattern.

First time using embossing powder. Too sparkly for me, but she likes it.
