Calling the ford done. There are a few things left to do. One is to reattach the front bumper. As i started final assembly, it got down to some "pinpoint" connections to glue. The typical Testors glue takes awhile to tack up and hold and the Tamiya thin cement for some reason wasn't working.
I also had to drill out the back of the custom wheels to get them to fit. In the end, I cambered the wheels a bit, as they look better than completely vertical. Did run into a fit issue with the custom tires, as they sat again the fender wells. Took a little thinking and almost slicing my fingers, but i was able to use small soru tree parts to add spacers. With the spacers in, i had the wheel clearance I wanted. The rear set a bit lower that the front, but it works, especially with the camber in the wheels.
Overall, I was very happy with the build. Though the wife chose the color and wheels, and olike the truck, it's too hot roddy for her. So I will build another for her in stock form.
Used acrylic paint for the wood, it turned out better than i imagined. Wanted a light blonde kind of wood to offset the blue. Finished it up with the Meguiars scratch remover and wax.
